The gunmen who kidnapped David Oyewumi, the Obadu of Ilemeso Ekiti, four days ago have demanded N20 million ransom.
Mr Oyewumi was abducted by
six armed men last Thursday at about 9 p.m. and taken to an unknown destination.
Although the police said they were on the trail of the kidnappers, nothing much had been heard from them.
During the attack, the gunmen came firing into the air, scaled the fence into the palace and entered the monarch’s living room.
Ilemeso, in Oye Local government Area of Ekiti State, borders Isan Ekiti, the home town of Governor Kayode Fayemi.

Executive members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria led by its president, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo, undertook a facility tour of the OPAC modular refineries in Kwale, Delta State.
It was learnt that the visit was to assess the refining capacity and perform oversight on the preparedness of the refinery ahead of the commissioning.
Chairman of OPAC Refineries, Mr. Momoh Oyarekhua, said that his company, being one of the local set-up and indigenous refining companies in Nigeria, is determined to provide a better alternative to petroleum products supply and ease the pressure on the foreign exchange.

DAILY POST reports that the incident happened few months after a chieftain of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria(IPMAN), Alhaji Suleiman Akinbami, was kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his filling station along Ado-Ijan road.
It was gathered that gunmen numbering eight had invaded the petrol station around 7pm on Thursday and abducted the victim.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti Command, ASP Sunday Abutu, who confirmed the incident, said a team of police operatives and detectives, including the Amotekun Corps and the local Hunters have been deployed to rescue the victim.
Lagos, April 7, 2021 The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has lauded the Federal Government for its effort to rehabilitate the Port Harcourt Refinery.
IPMAN’S president, Mr Chinedu Okoronkwo, told newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos that having functional refineries was in the best interest of the nation.
Naija247news reports that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and an Italian company, Tecnimont SpA, had on Tuesday signed an agreement for the rehabilitation of the 210,000BPD refinery at a sum of 1.5 billion dollars.
The rehabilitation project has a completion timeline of between 18 and 44 months under a three-phase arrangement.
Okoronkwo said: “We believe that rehabilitation of the PH refinery is a welcome development because it has been in a moribund state for some time.
