To grow older is truly a gift. It is a gift of time. When the psalmists said God knows every day that is ordained for us when not one of them existed (Psalm 139), it means God has a purpose, and it is our gift to God to find that purpose and to fulfil it, even if we are into our eighth decade of life or beyond.
Thus there cannot possibly be too many celebrations for this man, who deserves to live up to a thousand years should he wish God, who has watched him transmuted all these years to a fountain of wisdom, blessing to his people and gift to humanity, to preserve him.

With the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, and lockdown, economic activities contracted significantly, leading to low demand for crude oil and dwindling prices, thus putting pressure on oil and gas companies and other stakeholders to put on their thinking caps, required to drive operations.
Take the Mallam Mele Kyari-led Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, which represents the Federal Government in the Joint Ventures with the International Oil Companies, IOCs, as an example. In the past one and half years, the NNPC, working with other parties succeeded in increasing the nation’s oil production capacity from over 2.0 million barrels per day, mb/d to 3.0 mb/d in April, 2020. The nation has to limit itself to 1.4 mb/d, excluding Condensate as allowed by the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries, OPEC.

Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) has dismissed a purported takeover of its Kidney Island asset by Rivers state government.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by Gbenga Odugbesan, spokesman for SPDC.
Earlier on Wednesday, Kelvin Ebiri, special assistant to the governor of Rivers state on media, said the Island used by Shell as their operational base in Port Harcourt now belongs to the state government following a certificate of purchase registered in Port Harcourt’s lands registry.
Ebiri had said the facility and Shell’s 30 percent stake in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 11 were “lawfully purchased through public auction ordered by the High Court of Rivers state”.

Benin, Dec. 22, 2020 Malam Mele Kyari, the Group Managing Director, Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) says the new Oredo Integrated Gas Handling Facility (IGHF) will boost the establishment of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through improved power supply to the immediate environment.
Kyari spoke on Tuesday in Oredo, Edo, during the inauguration of the 200-million cubic litre capacity IGHF/Petroleum Development Company (NPDC) by President Muhammadu Buhari in Ologbo community.
Kyari said the gas plant would also provide social amenities to the immediate host community and enhance the quality of livelihood of the people.
“The conception and delivery of this project hinges principally on NNPC’s commitment to support national aspirations for increased domestic gas utilisation.
