With three weeks to go until the May long weekend that typically if unofficially marks the start of the summer across the country, the Conservatives are set to spend their first opposition day of the spring supply cycle making the case for a motion to have the House call on the government to “ensure that every Canadian adult has access to a vaccine” by the time it rolls around.

With the procedural paperwork now in place for the government to force an end to the three-day-old strike at the Port of Montreal, the stage is set for a lightning-round after-hours review of a bill that would order hundreds of dock workers back on the job, pending binding arbitration to resolve the long-running contract dispute.
Before that can get underway, however, the House has to sign off on a government-initiated motion that would allow the legislation to clear the Commons in a single sitting day.

Hours after confirming, via Twitter, that his government will be providing emergency military and logistical support to Ontario to bolster its fight against the third wave of the pandemic including, as per the Star, “three Canadian army teams of nurses and medics, plus Canadian Red Cross personnel to help ease the pressure on intensive care units”
