Quentin Hillsman says Tiana Mangakahia’s finalist nod for Nancy Lieberman Award is ‘well deserved’

Syracuse, N.Y. Syracuse senior guard Tiana Mangakahia is one of five finalists selected for the 2021 Nancy Lieberman Award, announced Monday by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association.
It’s the second time in her career that she’s been named a finalist for the award, given to the nation’s best point guard in women’s college basketball.

The Nebraska-Kearney women’s basketball team is ranked 12th in both NCAA Division II Top 25 polls this week.
UNK (12-2) has been as high as fourth in the
Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll. A panel of SID’s and head coaches from around the country vote on the makeup of each poll.
In the WBCA poll the Lopers tallied 255 points to be behind Central Region members Minnesota-Duluth (No. 6) and Fort Hays State (No. 11). Also represented from the Central are Southwestern Oklahoma State (No. 17), Arkansas Tech (No. 19), and Central Missouri (No. 21) with East Central (Okla.), Emporia State and Sioux Falls each receiving votes. Drury (Mo.), Lubbock Christian (Texas) and Lander (S.C.) occupy the top three spots.

Springfield, Mass. – Charisma Osborne has been tabbed to the 2021 Ann Meyers Drysdale Award Top Watch List, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and The Women s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Tuesday. Osborne is one of 10 players to be named to the current watch list for the top shooting guard in women s NCAA Division I college basketball.
Osborne has performed as one of the best guards in the country throughout the 2020-21 season. She opened her sophomore campaign with a 31-point outing in UCLA s victory over Cal State Fullerton (Nov. 27), and has gone on to lead the Pac-12 in scoring with 19.3 points per game. She has notched at least 20 points in each of her last five games, helping to lead UCLA to five-straight victories and the No. 5 spot on the most recent AP Top 25 poll. In addition to her prolific scoring, Osborne has become an all-around distributor for the Bruins. She has dished out 46 assists this season, already surpassing her
