ATLANTIC CITY - Myron Lively strolled past the shuttered Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino reliving a bit of his past.
In the early days of the city s casino industry, Lively was a waiter and his fiancée was a blackjack dealer at the Plaza.
Today, she s a city school teacher and he is barber at a shop just a short jaunt down the Boardwalk from the former Trump Plaza, which closed in 2014.
On Feb. 17, the tallest Plaza tower will become a memory, too. The planned implosion of the once-iconic tower at the center of the Boardwalk will mark the end of the Trump era in this shore town.

What to Know
It wasn’t nearly the $1 million that Atlantic City’s mayor had hoped for, but an auction for VIP viewing of the implosion of a former casino built by former President Donald Trump brought in over $16,000.
Mayor Marty Small said 10 packages that included VIP tickets to view the Feb. 17 implosion of the former Trump Plaza casino went for over $6,000. The Hard Rock casino also donated $10,000. Proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club of Atlantic City.
A previous plan to auction the right to press the button that would dynamite the building fell through.
