Sub-zero temperatures, shimmering downtown lights and peppermint-flavoured toppings traditionally usher in the festive holiday season. In the whirlwind of 2020, however, very little looks familiar. Amid so many changes, and an unavoidable sense of loss, the work of three local charities remains a critical mainstay for thousands of children and youth in Kingston and area.
âWhen the pandemic hit, I didnât know what I was going to do. I didnât have the option to stay home because of my work. I was freaking out,â says Anna, single mom of six-year-old Mia, and a front-line worker at Rosewood Retirement Residence.
