Brad Schultz wins Boys & Girls Club monthly mega raffle drawing

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Jan 20, 2021 1:57 PM The three finalists for the January drawing for the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area Mega Raffle were picked this (Wed.) morning during the KGFX morning show. Finalists are Brad Schultz, Tom Dravland and Kate Zimmer. Club director Becky Spoehr says this month’s prize is called “Fly Away with Me.” It includes two tickets to fly from Pierre to Denver on SkyWest and a $200 travel voucher from First National Bank. Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area accepts 3:1 endowment matching challenge

Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Dec 14, 2020 11:45 AM Scott and Julia Jones of Pierre and Dale Larson of Brookings have challenged the Boys and Girls Club of the Capital Area in Pierre to raise $500,000 for a $1.5 million match to the Club’s fund held with the South Dakota Community Foundation. Former Club board member Julia Jones says the services this nonprofit provides the community’s families are more important than any of us realize. Because of the matching gifts, all community donations to the BGCCA endowment fund will be matched $3 to $1. Stephanie Judson, SDCF President & CEO, says if the half-million dollars is raised within the community, the Larson and Jones match will bring the BGCCA endowment to $3 million. She says this perpetual will annually provide 4.5% of the fund’s four-year average value to benefit the mission of the Club

Plan Ahead: Events coming up in the Capital Region FacebookTwitterEmail Stuff the Truck SCHENECTADY Drop off a new, unwrapped toy at a “Stuff the Truck” event being held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 at two fire stations:  Station 2 , 1515 State St. and Station 1, 360 Veeder Ave. The event is sponsored by the Schenectady Fire Department, along with the Marine Corps and Toys for Tots. Donate cans and bottles Empty cans and bottles will be collected 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Sunday, Dec. 13, by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Capital Area and Sunmark Credit Union  to support BGCCA families during this holiday season.
