Benton County Deputies arrested a woman today after a scuffle and deadly shooting in Benton County Thursday.
Investigators say Patricia Garvey, 63, shot Jason Swanson, a 37 year old man, in his upper torso. Garvey has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and armed criminal action.
The shooting happened in a home on State Highway BB near Warsaw.

Two people in Missouri were arrested for allegedly assaulting a woman and her two children. The attack also led to the death of the woman s 4-year-old daughter.
The accused allegedly beat up the girl and dunked her in a pond, the child s father, identified as 28-year-old James Mast, said.
The mother and her 2-year-old toddler were also badly beaten up. They were hospitalized and received treatment for their injuries.
Benton County sheriff’s deputies responded to a Cole Camp home after being informed about the incident by Mast, news outlet KRCGTV reported. Mast told authorities his daughter was “left to freeze on the bank before being taken back into the residence,” the Benton County Sheriff’s Office wrote in a Facebook post.
Two Lincoln residents have been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a child and severe beating of another child and their mother over the weekend.
According to a release from Benton County Sheriff Eric Knox, Benton County Dispatch was notified just before 1 a.m. on Sunday, December 20, regarding a 4-year-old female who was deceased. The father, 28-year-old James Mast, of a rural Cole Camp residence, stated that his daughter had been beaten, submerged in a pond, then left to freeze on the bank before being taken back into the residence. The mother of the deceased, 28-year-old Mary S. Mast, and a 2-year-old male child also were beaten to a severe extent. Mary and the toddler were transported by ambulance to Bothwell Regional Hospital in Sedalia, where they are recovering.

Late Monday evening Benton County Deputies assisted Washington State Patrol troopers investigating a crash near the intersection of SR 224 and Red Mtn. Road near Benton City.
Deputies did not say if multiple vehicles involved, but apparently the driver of this car was seen fleeing on foot. He was said to be 23 years old, heavyset and wearing shorts (in this weather?!?)
He was believed to have possibly fled into the Red Mtn. neighborhood. The investigation continues.
