Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Benton Harbor on Monday. The Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety says officers were called to the 800 block of Ogden around 1:40 p.m. after several reports of gunfire in the area. While on their way to the scene, officers were told an 18-year-old man had been dropped off at Spectrum Health Lakeland hospital in St. Joseph with gunshot wounds. He later died at the hospital. Police say early information suggests the victim was not the intended target of Monday’s shooting. The suspects and motive remain under investigation. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact the Benton Harbor Department of Public Safety.
