WASHINGTON, Feb 23 (Reuters) - A U.S. judge said on Tuesday he will not block California s state net neutrality law aimed at protecting the open internet, according to a lawyer who listened to the hearing.
Several trade groups had filed suit to block California s net neutrality law of 2018 that has never taken effect.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Justice Department withdrew its Trump-era legal challenge to the California law.
Andrew Jay Schwartzman, a senior counselor for the Benton Institute for Broadband & Society that filed in support of California, said the judge s decision was a huge victory for net neutrality.
