Todd County reports 10 new COVID cases, five in Trigg

Hopkinsville, KY, USA / WHOP 1230 AM | News Radio Apr 26, 2021 8:26 PM Todd County had a spike with 10 new cases of COVID-19 Monday, while Trigg County reported five new cases since Friday. Eight of Todd County’s new cases are adults, two are minors and all are at home with varying symptoms. Five of those cases are connected to a gathering, according to the Todd County Health Department. All 20 of Todd County’s active cases are healing at home. Public Health Director Jen Harris says 34 people were vaccinated Monday at the three mobile clinics in the northern part of the county. Meanwhile, the Pennyrile District Health Department says all five of Trigg County’s new cases are adults between the ages of 23 and 63 and they are all isolated at home.

Fewer Kentuckians Getting a COVID Vaccine; State to Start Releasing County Vaccination Data

Kentuckians responded to that with the fewest number of new vaccinations since the first week of December. Last week, just over 24,000 new people were vaccinated, down from 84,000 the previous week and 125,000 two weeks ago. Beshear said Kentucky appears to be in a plateau in case numbers, but variants have the potential to cause another spike. Three cases of a COVID-19 variant have been reported in Marshall County. Two cases have been reported in Christian County and one case each in Caldwell, Lyon, and Calloway counties. Trigg County recorded 19 new cases of COVID-19 between Thursday and Monday. The Pennyrile District Health Department says they are three minors and 16 adults and all are isolating at home.
