Winnipeg continues to see the highest number of new cases in the province.
A male in his 60s from the Southern Health–Santé Sud region is the latest COVID-19 death, bringing the total to 1,011 deaths.
The current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 12.7 per cent provincially and 14.3 per cent in Winnipeg. As of 9:30 a.m.Monday, 430 new cases of the virus have been identified. The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 45,579.
• 18 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region;
• 37 cases in the Northern health region;
• 18 cases in the Prairie Mountain health region;
• 44 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and

Public health officials advise one new death in a person with COVID-19 has been reported today.

Today’s COVID-19 data shows:
• 18 cases in the Interlake–Eastern health region;
• 37 cases in the Northern health region;
• 18 cases in the Prairie Mountain health region;
• 44 cases in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region; and
Steinbach RCMP make arrest in shooting investigation

Steinbach RCMP are reporting that a 28-year-old RM of Emerson-Franklin man has been arrested in connection to a recent shooting incident that occurred at a residence located in the RM of Hanover.
On May 5, 2021, at approximately 4pm, Steinbach RCMP responded to a report of an injured male outside the Bethesda Regional Health Centre located in the City of Steinbach.
Police say that the 31-year-old male was suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital in Winnipeg with non-life threatening injuries.
Steinbach RCMP along with the General Investigations Section, Major Crime Services and Forensic Identification Section assisted with the investigation. Investigation determined that the shooting had occurred at a rural residence in the RM of Hanover, near Pansy.
