Robert Fulmer Corbett, 77, of Sandwich died May 7 at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth.
He was the widower of Sandra Lee (Olson) Corbett, who died in 2014. They were married for 20 years.
Born in Manhattan, New York, he moved to Plymouth in the 1950s with his mother and three siblings. He graduated from Plymouth High School in the Class of 1964.
After high school, Mr. Corbett began what would be a career in welding. He started at General Dynamics, where he constructed submarines. From there, he took on a prominent master welding position as a self-proclaimed âMaster Manipulator of Molten Metalâ in the Boilermakers Union, Local 29, in which he built power plants throughout the northeastern United States.
POTSDAM â Board Certified Emergency Medicine Specialist Rebecca Gilson, MD, has joined St. Lawrence Healthâs medical staff, and will be practicing at Canton-Potsdam Hospital and Gouverneur Hospital.
Dr. Gilson earned her medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Philadelphia, PA; and completed her Harvard-affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency training at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, Boston.
âI love working in a down to earth, tight-knit community, and Iâm looking forward to providing emergency care in the North Country,â Dr. Gilson said in a press release from the hospital.
âI recently returned to New York after being gone for several years, and am so happy to be back,â she said. âI am excited to explore the outdoor activities of the area.â
