Church has suspicious ceiling damage in office

Church has suspicious ceiling damage in office The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office investigated a complaint about a suspicious breaking and entering that occurred last week at Bethany Baptist Church in Frenchtown Township. The head deacon at the church located at 2740 Nadeau Rd. told a sheriff’s deputy he found ceiling tiles, a light and insulation that fell through the ceiling in a locked treasurer’s office. Upon a further investigation, nothing was found missing from the church. A four-foot ladder owned by the church was found set up underneath an entrance to the attic. There are no suspects and it is unknown if anyone actually entered the building, the deputy’s report said. It’s possible a strong gust of wind may have caused the ceiling tiles to collapse, the report said.
