Presidents Day weekend notoriously marks the unofficial start of the spring housing market, but for those wanting to nab a property, they likely will have to empty their wallets in order to make the deal, area real estate experts say.
Bidding wars remain off the charts, even as home prices continue to rise rapidly. The limited amount of inventory available in the Lehigh Valley, agents say, is causing some prospective buyers to bid tens of thousands over asking prices, bring cash offers to the table, waive inspections and pen letters to sellers expressing passion for homes.

Pennsylvania Republicans did not vote to censure Sen. Pat Toomey Wednesday night over his vote to convict former President Trump in his second impeachment trial. Toomey says he d been mostly aligned with President Trump during his term in office. President Trump and I were allies far more often, but not every time. If I disagree with the president from any party, I m going to say so. As it happened, we were in agreement far more often than disagreement, Toomey said. State Republicans say they may take up the issue again next week however.

Boy ‘sexually tortured’ by student on Bethlehem school bus, lawsuit alleges
Updated Feb 25, 2021;
Parents of a young boy are suing the Bethlehem Area School District, alleging their son was repeatedly sexually assaulted on a district school bus and that school officials did nothing to stop the attacks.
The federal lawsuit filed Wednesday against the school district claims the “violent, physical and sexual torture” by another student took place over four months in 2019 on a bus to Farmersville Elementary School in Bethlehem Township.
The school district’s solicitor declined to comment about the lawsuit.
The parents said problems began when an older student on the bus began bullying their son, who is now 6, in September 2019.
