IASD REPORTS SECOND POSITIVE COVID-19 CASE AT BEN FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY

Indiana, PA / WDAD AM1450 & 100.3FM Mar 10, 2021 6:24 AM The Indiana Area School District has announced that a second positive case of Covid-19 was reported at Ben Franklin Elementary School. District Superintendent Michael Vuckovich announced on the district website that an employee at the school tested positive, and that case will count towards the rolling 14-day count. Ben Franklin will remain open at this time. This came after the announcement of a sixth positive case of Covid-19 at the Indiana Senior High School. That sixth case was a student case, and contact tracing is underway. Some of the students identified as close contacts had already been placed in quarantine when they became ill, so no additional students or staff were affected. Vuckovich announced that according to the health and safety plan, the high school could have been closed for up to two weeks, but after discussing the situation at length with the PA Health Department, high school administration and school
