HARRISBURG Pennsylvania’s public university system has agreed on a strategy to address racism on its campuses by building a more diverse staff and curriculum after students of color spoke out about feeling unsafe and overlooked.
The 20-member Board of Governors voted April 15 to establish diversity, inclusion, and equity priorities by collecting data on university demographics and establishing resources for change.

NAZI paraphernalia, a dozen guns, and $1 million worth of meth have been seized in a drugs and arms trafficking bust at the home of a Pennsylvania couple.
Tara Gallucci, 34, was arrested at her home in Northampton on Wednesday, but her partner Christopher Weikert, also 34, fled the scene and remains at large.

Thanks to the presidential race, last year’s election saw historic voter turnout in Philadelphia, pandemic notwithstanding. History suggests that’s not the case in “off” years and primaries often see even lower numbers.
But stakes are high in the upcoming May 18 election, which features races that could have a resounding impact on the city and state criminal justice systems.

The prevailing wage laws are somewhat complicated and can expose an unwary employer to thousands of dollars in wages and penalties if the employer does not comply. There are also occasions when flagrant violations of such laws can land an owner in prison.
