Caesars Entertainment has announced an early HSR clearance for its proposed combination with William Hill. The deal has to be subject to the HSR (Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements) Act 1976 and has also received approvals from the Mississippi Gaming Commission and the West Virginia Lottery. It still has to gain the approval of the Indiana Gaming Commission, Nevada Gaming Control Board, Nevada Gaming Commission, New Jersey Divison of Gaming Enforcement and Casino Control Commission and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Additionally, the combination needs the final approval of the High Court in the UK as well as final approval and administrative and post-closing approvals from other US agencies.

Harrisburg, Pa. – Conscious Gaming and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board jointly announced the deployment of “PlayPause,” an innovative self-exclusion tool for internet-based gambling created to modernize and strengthen the effectiveness of the U.S. gaming industry’s responsible gaming programs. This is the first deployment of PlayPause in the United States with the solution being made available at no cost to operators and regulators via Conscious Gaming, a new non-profit organization established by GeoComply.  The system is designed for regulators and licensed gaming operators in one state to securely identify self-excluded patrons who chose to participate in the program with other participating United States licensed gaming operators and regulators. 

Revenue drops at Mohegan Sun and rises at Mount Airy in November

Total gaming revenue dropped more than 22% at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Plains Twp. while it increased 13.6% at Mount Airy Casino Resort in Monroe County in November, according to numbers released Thursday by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. Total revenue at Mohegan Sun Pocono dropped from about $19 million in November 2019 to about $14.8 million last month. Like other casinos throughout the state, Mohegan Sun Pocono was operating at 50% capacity in November with a reduced number of slot machines and reduced capacity at table games. Gov. Tom Wolf recently ordered Mohegan Sun Pocono and all casinos statewide shut down for three weeks until Jan. 4.
