Wolf administration to use state grants funds to improve 12 Pa. airports

Gov. Tom Wolf announced on Wednesday that the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) will invest $10 million in state grant funds for work at 12 Pennsylvania airports.
“Aviation plays a vital role in keeping our state’s economy moving,” Wolf said in the press release. “These investments will help Pennsylvania’s airports operate safely, expand to meet current demands, and sustain growth well into the future.”
As of April 2021, Pennsylvania ranks 16th in the country in the number of public-use aviation facilities with 124 airports, heliports, and seaplane bases, the release said.

Lane closures are scheduled next week on eastbound U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) and several other state highways in Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks counties, for tree trimming operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work schedules and locations are:
Tuesday, May 11, through Friday, May 14, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, right lane closures are scheduled on eastbound U.S. 30 (Coatesville-Downingtown Bypass) between the Route 322 (Manor Avenue) and Reeceville Road interchanges in Caln Township, Chester County;
Monday, May 10, from 7:00 Am to 3:00 PM, a lane closure with flagging is scheduled on Homeville Road between Cream Road and Street Rd in Upper Oxford Township, Chester County;

CHESTER COUNTY, PA Construction begins May 12 to resurface a 6-mile section of Baltimore Pike in parts of Chester and Delaware counties. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that a project to repair and resurface U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) from the Chester and Delaware county line to the Pole Cat Road intersection in Chadds Ford and Concord townships, in Delaware County. The project also includes pavement restoration to the highway in Pennsbury Township, Chester County.
