LOWER MAKEFIELD, PA Interstate 295 eastbound between Route 332 and New Hope interchanges will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 14, through Tuesday, Jan. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge concrete pier repairs, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
Drivers should allow extra when traveling through the work area, as backups and delays will occur. The schedule is weather dependent.

LOWER PROVIDENCE TOWNSHIP, PA Westbound U.S. 422 motorists will encounter a left lane closure between the U.S. 202 and Oaks interchanges overnight on Thursday.
The Jan. 7 closure will last from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m on Friday. A post-construction assessment of the recently completed project to build new, wider bridges to improve travel on U.S. 422 over the Schuylkill River, Norfolk Southern Railroad, South Trooper Road, and Schuylkill River Trail in West Norriton, Upper Merion and Lower Providence townships, Montgomery County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

Mother Nature’s way of saying “Happy New Year” today is coming with some snow and a quarter inch or more of ice.
Oh well, it is winter after all.
The National Weather Service said Friday will emerge with snow showers, freezing rain and then sleet between 2 and 3 p.m. in our region … and then rain and freezing rain.
That’s quite a combination.
Take heed.
The rain and freezing rain will continue into Friday night, but should become all rain after 10 p.m., the NWS predicts.
The high Friday is projected at 34 degrees, dipping to the freezing mark at night.

In anticipation of frozen precipitation and potentially icy road conditions in many areas on Friday, Jan. 1, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is advising motorists to avoid all unnecessary travel during the upcoming storm that start around noonish. PennDOT plans to implement travel restrictions on trucks and other vehicles on certain roads around the state, which will remain in place until conditions warrant their removal.
Effective at 10 a.m. Jan 1, , vehicle restrictions are implemented reflecting Level 3 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan on the entire length of Interstate 99 in both directions.
Effective at noon Jan. 1, vehicle restrictions are implemented reflecting Level 1 of the commonwealth’s weather event vehicle restriction plan on I-80 from I-79 to I-99.

HARRISBURG The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today that expiration dates for commercial driver licenses and commercial learner’s permits will be extended for Pennsylvania residents in response to statewide COVID-19 mitigation efforts.
The following products’ expiration dates will be extended: The expiration date for a commercial learner’s permit scheduled to expire from March 16, 2020, through Feb. 22, 2021, is extended through Feb. 22, 2021. The expiration date for commercial driver licenses scheduled to expire from March 16, 2020, through Feb. 22, 2021, is extended through Feb. 22, 2021.
Expiration extension deadlines on non-commercial driver license, photo identification cards, learner’s permits and camera cards ended on Aug. 31, 2020.
