Overnight work will take place next week for a road improvement project on 2.5 mile stretch of Interstate 99 in Spring Township, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
From 6 p.m. Monday until Thursday evening, work will occur around the clock on the right lane of I-99 northbound between the Harrison Road interchange and the on-ramp for I-80 eastbound at Bellefonte.
Night shift crews will excavate the road surface and daytime crews will perform paving operations.
Though overnight work is expected to be completed by Thursday, the northbound travel lane will be closed until late August.
The $4.6 million project is designed to improve ride quality and extend the life of the roadway. PennDOT anticipates completion by early September.
