A company that employs more than 1,500 people in northern Dauphin County is expanding. MI Windows, a supplier of vinyl and aluminum windows and patio doors, is expanding its manufacturing capacity at its headquarters in Gratz. The company will construct a 90,000-square-foot addition to its existing facility, which will feature two additional vinyl window production lines, a new automated glass .

Some parts of the Lehigh Valley saw rain this morning but Accu-Weather s Joe Lundberg says more is on the way. I think mid-afternoon is when it cranks up. I think there will be a good blowup of thunderstorms and as we head into the late afternoon and evening hours we re definitely going to see a shower and a heavier thunderstorm move through, Lundberg says. He says any storm could bring damaging winds and enough rain to bring about flash flooding.
Wednesday, the Pennsylvania Department of Health added 580 new cases of coronavirus to the state s total, but for the first time since September 10th, none of those new cases came from Lehigh County. Lehigh was one of nine counties to report no new cases Wednesday. Northampton County reported eight new cases Wednesday.
The manufacturer is adding vinyl window production lines, an automated glass room and a training center as well as raising starting pay at all its U.S. facilities.

Governor Tom Wolf announced today that longtime Pennsylvania manufacturer MI Windows and Doors, one of the nation’s largest suppliers of vinyl and aluminum windows and patio doors, will expand its operation in Dauphin County, creating nearly 100 new jobs and retaining more than 1,500 team members.
“Committed to creating jobs and products in manufacturing since 1947, MI Windows has had a longstanding presence in Pennsylvania and we are thrilled to see their continued growth,” said Gov. Wolf. “This expansion will build on our commonwealth’s historic legacy in manufacturing and bring new, family-sustaining jobs to Central Pennsylvania.”
