Fischer, 54, has been charged with obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds and obstruction of justice/Congress. Police Officer Joseph Fischer remains on unpaid suspension as required by the Pennsylvania Confidence in Law Enforcement Act, Miller read. The township will continue to monitor developments in the case brought by the United States against Mr. Fischer.
Officials did not take questions regarding Fischer or Leahy, saying in their statement, The township has no further comment.
