William J. Weidman, 39, of New Albany, was sentenced in Bradford County Court to five to 10 years in state prison following his conviction for homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence, a felony, and two counts of DUI, a misdemeanor.
Around 8:45 p.m. Sept. 28, 2020, Weidman was operating a vehicle southbound on Morris Road in Overton Township, south of Towanda and just west of New Albany, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Towanda.
Weidman failed to negotiate a right-hand curve and went off the roadway, state police said. The car traveled down a steep embankment and crashed into a stand of trees.
