The commonwealth is not among the 26 states that have publicly released plans to vaccinate teachers against COVID-19. In the state s vaccination plan, teachers are part of Phase 1B, with other essential workers.
And on Friday, Pennsylvania officials made it clear that they will not move teachers to the 1A vaccination group despite a request from Pennsylvania’s largest teachers’ union and one from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention saying it would strongly encourage states to prioritize teachers and other school staff.
