CORNING, N.Y., Feb. 26, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) Corning Natural Gas Holding Corporation (OTCPK: CNIG) (“Corning” or the “Company”), a holding company operating natural gas and electric utilities serving approximately 21,000 customers in two states, today announced the expiration of the 45-day “go shop” period pursuant to the terms of the previously announced definitive merger agreement under which an affiliate of Argo Infrastructure Partners, LP (“Argo”) agreed to acquire all of the outstanding shares of Corning common stock for $24.75 per share in cash (the “Merger Agreement”).

Settlement Unanimously Approved in Pennsylvania American Water Rate Request

The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) today unanimously approved a settlement agreement that was previously filed between the company and the PUC Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement. This allows Pennsylvania American Water to raise its water and wastewater rates over a two-year period to reflect the continued investment made by the company to provide reliable, quality service. The company’s rate request was driven by $1.64 billion of investment from 2019 through 2022 to replace and upgrade aging infrastructure.

HARRISBURG The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission on Monday urged consumers or businesses that may be struggling with larger winter utility bills or overdue balances to call their public utilities right away to explore all available assistance options and to take advantage of enhanced winter options before those programs may change or end.
There are many assistance options currently available, but the arrival of spring just weeks away could bring changes or an end to some safeguards and may put some utility customers at risk of termination if they do not act soon.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the PUC adopted a series of enhanced consumer protections intended to safeguard families and small businesses who may be struggling financially. Additionally, utilities have various customer assistance programs for income-qualified households, and many major utilities also took other voluntary steps to keep residents and businesses connected during the winter
