The great debate: Will Gov Wolf get proposed marijuana legalization for PA?

Longtime marijuana advocate Carl Romanelli thinks Gov. Tom Wolf is smart to push for legalized recreational marijuana for adults in his 2021 budget proposal. “The writing was on the wall with other states falling like dominos. I think he was thinking ‘Why be late to the game?’” Romanelli said. “All these industries should be above board so they could be properly regulated. It’s better for the state to control an industry like this rather than cartels and other forms of organized crime.” Romanelli, 61, a Green Party member from Wilkes-Barre who helped start the Pennsylvania Cannabis Festival in Scranton in 2015, said he’s been pro-legalization of marijuana for nearly 40 years.

Bruce Castor no stranger to national spotlight

NORRISTOWN — Former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr., hired Sunday to be part of former President Donald Trump’s defense team during his upcoming Senate impeachment trial, is no stranger to the national spotlight. Castor’s decision not to charge actor Bill Cosby in 2005 when a former Temple University employee accused Cosby of drugging and molesting her, his appearance as a defense witness at Cosby’s eventual trial and his appearances on the Discovery ID channel discussing some of his high-profile prosecutions as a law and order man have all garnered Castor national attention and TV face time during his career.
