Local POL production increase by 1.57% during July-October

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Overall production of petroleum commodities has witnessed an increase of 1.57 percent during the first four months of current financial year 2020-21 as compared to corresponding period of fiscal year 2019-20.
POL products that showed positive growth include Kerosene Oil the production of which increased by 21.38 percent during the period under review, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
Similarly, the production of Motor Spirits, High Speed Diesel, Jute Batching Oil and Liquefied Petroleum Gas witnessing increase of 15.81 percent, 8.15 percent, 11.11 percent and 8.19 percent respectively.

Stocks on Tuesday staged a stellar show that flopped near the end as investors stampeded to book profits after global oil and equity rout hit the panic button, dealers said.
Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 shares index lost 0.04 percent or 15.38 points to close at 43,250.84 points, while volumes increased to 702.210 million shares, as compared with 629.525 million on Monday. KSE-30 also hit a low of 0.27 percent or 47.97 points to end at 18,040.70 points level.
Ovais Ahsan, chief executive officer at Optimus Capital Management said the market closed slightly in the negative zone as profit-taking clipped intraday gains.
Large-scale manufacturing grew by 5.46pc in Jul-Oct period: Hammad Azhar

took to Twitter to announce that large scale manufacturing output increased by an impressive 5.46 percent in the July-October 2020 period, thereby proving that economic growth in Pakistan was being driven by the industry.
“Large Scale Manufacturing grew by 5.46% in Jul-Oct period. At a time when the global economy is in deep recession, Industry is driving economic growth and recovery in Pakistan,” he tweeted.
The statement came in the wake of the recently released provisional Quantum Index Numbers (QIM) of Large Scale Manufacturing Industries by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
