Independent wrestling has been hit hard by the pandemic. That COVID forced WWE to move
WrestleMania 36 to their Orlando Performance Center and cancel all ancillary events in Tampa cost lots of promoters and wrestlers lots of money.
The pandemic isn’t over, but with vaccinations place and a year’s worth of protocols to pick and choose from, WWE is bringing their biggest event and fans to Tampa’s Raymond James Stadium this year. We’re not sure yet how many tickets will be sold for
WrestleMania 37, but executives said they’d use the Super Bowl as a guide. The NFL put 25,000 people (and 30,000 cutouts) in the same venue on Feb. 7. Speculation is Vince McMahon will want 30,000 fans at his two shows at Raymond James on Sat., April 10 and Sun, April 11.
On a recent episode of
The Wrestling Inc. Daily podcast, Wrestling Inc. Managing Editor Nick Hausman sat down with independent pro wrestling star Allie Kat to discuss her show
Real Hot Girl Sh t that will be part of GCW’s
Fight Forever this weekend.
Fight Forever being a 24-hour wrestling event. She said that herself and other wrestlers are getting the chance to run their own shows in the way they want to.
“So
Fight Forever, what you got to know is it’s Friday and Saturday because it’s 24 hours,” Kat stated. “When I asked Brett [Lauderdale], ‘What are you doing? We have some matches and then what, we’ll play some stuff?’ He’s like, ‘No, it’s all live wrestling the whole entire time happening,’ and I was like, ‘Yo, what? This is insane!’ So it’s 24 hours of live wrestling, 8 p.m. to 8 p.m. the next day.
