COVID-19 briefing, provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry explained why numbers are still high, and she also expressed excitement again about the arrival of vaccines. Meanwhile, there are also three new healthcare outbreaks, and 14 flights and seven stores with exposures. Vaccines arrive The first vaccine doses approximately 4,000 of them arrived in B.C. late on December 13 and vaccinations for healthcare workers will begin tomorrow (December 15) in Vancouver Coastal Health and Fraser Health.

COVID-19 cases at Big White Ski Resort caused by social activity

“Given the remote circumstances of people who reside at Big White, we have deployed a testing team to expedite some testing,” Interior Health tells Daily Hive in an email. And because of “the shared nature of some accommodations in the community, some asymptomatic testing is occurring as an attempt to identify possible cases early.” Health authorities say that activities at Big White are “safe” for those who follow COVID-19’s public health guidance. VANCOUVER Interior Health is carrying out a second day of testing at Big White Ski Resort following “a few positive cases” of COVID-19, and reports of partying on the mountain, according to the company’s senior vice-president. Michael Ballingall told CTV News members of Interior Health were on the mountain Monday, offering tests to anyone who wanted one. This is after more than 60 people were tested on Friday. “At some stage later in the week I’m going to assume that Interior Health will come back with us, and the community and the members of the chamber of commerce and they’ll tell us that we need to change our protocols in any way, or its business as usual,” Ballingall said.
