Juneau, Alaska (KINY) - Twenty COVID-19 cases were identified in Juneau between Christmas Day and Monday, according to the City and Borough of Juneau Emergency Operations Center.
Seventeen are resident cases and three are nonresidents. Of the resident cases, Public Health is attributing six to secondary transmission; four to community spread, and one to out of state travel. The others are under investigation. Two of the nonresident cases are in the mining sector while the other is under investigation.
The City Hall release says there are 52 active cases in Juneau. All are in isolation. One person is in the hospital.

Statewide, the Alaska Department of Health and Social Services reported Friday 495 new people with COVID-19 All but ten are residents.

The release says Public Health is attributing one of the cases to out-of-state travel. The other two are under investigation.
