Mumbai Metro will get its first of its indigenously-manufactured
driverless trains from Bharat Earth Movers Ltd. Bengaluru, Urban Development Minister

An abrupt decision by the
Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) to shut the jumbo COVID-care centre at Annasaheb Magar Stadium in Pimpri-Chinchwad, from January 16, has left the agency running the unit in a quandary. While it is yet to be paid its dues, it does not have the wherewithal to let its 500-odd staff go, who are mostly parked in hotels, where the bills will have to be cleared before check-out. The authorities, however, assured they will take due care for winding up the unit.

The Centre and the Shiv Sena-led MVA government in Maharashtra are locked in a tussle over ownership of the land.
The interim stay comes as the Bombay High Court directs MMRDA to maintain status quo on the land till the Centre and other parties that have claimed title rights over the disputed land can be heard.
The state government had told the court that it backs the decision of the collector and would stick by it. The state government had also claimed that the decision would not impinge on the rights of the Centre either.
