Childrenâs Museum of Southern Minnesota wins grant, awaits state funding

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) - As the Childrenâs Museum of Southern Minnesota awaits state funding from lawmakers, the organization has received different funding to help bring a new exhibit to life.
The museum is getting a $10,000 grant from the Consolidated Communications Community Fund of the Mankato Area Foundation.
The grant will help build a prototype exhibit all centered around teaching the museumâs young audience about the Internet and how it works.
The museum is currently collecting feedback from visitors and community members to help build the baseline for how the exhibit will look.

Several of the unqualified senior managers who are employed to the state-owned Jamaica Urban Transit Company (JUTC) have reportedly taken steps towards getting the necessary qualifications.
The managers were ordered by the board of the bus company to commence enrolment in a programme in the area of their work/specialisation at a recognised tertiary institution no later than September 2020, a deadline which was later extended.
When contacted this week, Corporate Communications Manager at the JUTC, Cecil Thoms, said “several managers are now enrolled in a programme to acquire the relevant qualifications… for their positions.”
When pressed for clarity, Thoms did not offer more, citing that it is a “sensitive issue”.
