Residents and landlords of Victory Park Estate, Lekki, Lagos State, have accused the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria AMCON, of harassment over their property despite pending court cases and orders.
Two of such cases were filed by Mrs B. Ibude and Mr Okechukwu Okoli and his wife against AMCON and its receiver-manager Mr Lanre Olaoluwa.
The plaintiffs obtained injunctions against the respondents AMCON and Olaoluwa appealed.
The estate spans almost 50 hectares of land and is one of the gated communities in the Igbokushu area of Lekki Peninsula Scheme 1.
The residents are accusing AMCON and its receiver-manager of outright disregard for law and order and illegal use of official powers.

Pioneer Country Director of Plan International Nigeria, Dr. Hussaini Abdu, will be leaving his current role at the end of February, 2021, a statement from the organisation said.
Abdu joined Plan International in April 2015 from ActionAid Nigeria where he was the Country Director for six years.
He is leaving to take up new challenge after steering the ship of Plan International in Nigeria to a remarkable position of a front-line girl and child rights international non-governmental organisation in the country.
Dr. Fatoumata Haidara, Director of the Sahel Region of Plan International, speaking of Abdu’s role in the organisations, praised his leadership and achievements in promoting the ideals of the organisation.

Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a lawsuit asking the Federal High Court, Abuja, to “stop President Muhammadu Buhari from implementing draconian and unlawful provisions of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020 which allow the Federal Government to arbitrarily merge a new association with an already registered association; to suspend and remove trustees of any association; and to take over funds belonging to any association, and transfer such funds to another association on the pretext that the account is dormant.”
Joined in the suit as defendants are the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
