On Tuesday’s broadcast of MSNBC’s “The Last Word,” House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC) said that the biggest problem with policing is recruiting, not training, and “and we’ve got to pay better salaries. You’re not going to get good people for the kind of salaries that we pay these police officers.”
Clyburn stated, “That’s our big problem, not training. It’s recruiting. We’ve got to recruit better people, and we’ve got to pay better salaries. You’re not going to get good people for the kind of salaries that we pay these police officers. We’ve got to do better.”

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) must pay a $5,000 fine for allegedly violating new security protocols at the Capitol. According to reports, Congressman Clyburn was reportedly fined earlier this week for avoiding metal detectors before entering the House floor.
