Washington [US] May 19, (ANI): US Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer said the Senate will vote on legislation to establish a commission to probe the January 6 attack on the Capitol, despite signs that Republicans will broadly oppose the proposal.
Sheriff s deputies arrested in March Garaus Henry, of Lansing, who they said was the driver of a vehicle involved in a high-speed crash that injured four people. Sha-Heem Harris, 21, of Elmira, was the passenger in the other vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene of the 1:50 a.m. accident on Auburn Road.
Henry was initially indicted on three counts of second-degree attempted murder and one count of second-degree aggravated criminal possession of a weapon, according to the Tompkins County Sheriff s Office.
A grand jury later also indicted Henry on the additional charges of second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault and first-degree reckless endangerment.

Washington – Rep. John Katko pushed back Tuesday against Republicans who said they won’t support a deal he negotiated with Democrats to establish an independent, bipartisan commission to investigate the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.
Katko, R-Camillus, insisted he will move forward in an attempt to gain GOP support for the bipartisan bill, which could come up for a vote on the House floor as early as Wednesday.
