Senators take notes and doodle as House impeachment managers present their case
From CNN s Manu Raju
While the House impeachment managers make their presentation, most senators were paying attention, either taking notes or listening politely. Some didn t seem to be too interested in the proceedings.
Sen. Rand Paul, who is not wearing a mask, was doodling squiggly lines on a white pad of paper. Next to him, his friend, Utah Sen. Mike Lee, was taking extensive notes, writing furiously as Democrats were making their arguments.
Everyone is wearing a mask, other than Paul. Sen. Cynthia Lummis pulled her mask down for an extended period of time as well.

FRASER TWP, MI Driving down a busy road in rural Bay County, you may be struck by a provocative flag waving in the wind from one house’s flagpole.
“F Biden” the black, red, and white flag proclaims, with “And f you for voting for him!” emblazoned beneath it. Above it flies the more familiar yellow Gadsden, or “Don’t tread on me,” flag.
The top-ranking Republican in the state of Michigan told members of a GOP county group that he did not believe that most of those who took part in the attacks of the U.S. Capitol building last month were supporters of former President Donald Trump.
In spite of absolutely zero evidence existing to support such claims that have been made over the past month, Michigan’s Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey (R-Clarklake) suggested that the breach of the Capitol on January 6 was a faked event.
His comments were recorded and uploaded on YouTube by a member of that county’s GOP organization. Shirkey was facing censure from his party over his failure to do more to oppose Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.
Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey made the comments last Wednesday while meeting with leaders of the Hillsdale County GOP, according to a video posted on YouTube.
