Disney World will celebrate its 50th anniversary later this year with all new embellishments and decorations as a way to shimmer pixie dust on its four Florida parks. Coined as “The Most Magical Celebration,” the 18-month event kicks off on Oct. 1, 50 years to the day since the Magic Kingdom opened its gates in Central Florida.  At night, the castle will shimmer with “pixie dust,” while the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, will have fireflies inhabiting the theme park’s icon. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, at Disney’s Hollywood Studio, will get its own yet-to-be-disclosed enhancement, and Spaceship Earth, at EPCOT, will have new lights that shine off the reflective panels that will resemble the night sky.
