Take Your Valentine On A Romantic Getaway At This Mountain Cabin
Clearly, after the year we have all had, a box of chocolates and a $3 greeting are not going to cut it this Valentines Day. You are really going to need to do something special to show her (or him) that you appreciate them sticking by your side through the pandemic (and TP shortage, and murder hornets, and the Presidential Election, and. well, you get the picture).
Why not take that special person on a romantic weekend getaway in the White Mountains of New Hampshire?
Sound good? This could be just the place!
Blimp Time Hop: Photos Of Mainers With Alice Cooper
It s the legendary Alice Cooper s 73rd birthday. He was born Vincent Furnier in Detroit, Michigan on February 4, 1948. We made sure to celebrate on WBLM s Classic Lunch with a block of Cooper classics. Yeah, even though it s all about the intense action of the Blimp Bowl of Rock N Roll consuming the airwaves, ya gotta make time to pay respect to great artist like Uncle Alice on his hatchday.
We thought it might also be fun to check out some great off stage photos of Alice Cooper when he was last here in Maine. This was when he was in town for a concert at Westbrook s Rock Row back in the summer of 2019.
Mainers Race Lawnmowers on The Ice in Subzero Temps
A lot of times I will start an article with Only in Maine . And, most of the time, I use it because it s some silly thing that involves an activity you probably wouldn t see anywhere outside of our state lines. Well, I think I have found the one. Seriously guys, I think I have found the MOST Only in Maine Maine story I have ever written. It s happened. We ve peaked.
What you re about to see is literally people racing garden tractors on the ice in good ol Lincolnville, Maine. Organized by Thunder Valley Mower Drag Races, drivers and spectators alike gathered on the frozen surface of Norton Pond on Saturday afternoon for the big race.
In the little town of Andover in Oxford County, is a neat little cave that is not well known.
But Chris Lee knows this secret hideaway. It s more visited in the summer as a place to cool off with waterfalls and a swimming hole.
But if you are an adventurous type, winter is just beautiful. Chris really captured how gorgeous the Devil s Den really is.
According to
Only In Your State - it s only a stone s throw away from the Silver Ripple Cascade.
Chris says they call this place
the poor man s Ice Castles .

Chris says it s not a very long walk and it s packed down snow, because it s also a snowmobile trail.
