Gorakhpur MLA Radha Mohan Das Agrawal made the remarks after SII on Wednesday announced a price of ₹600 per dose for Covishield supplies to private hospitals Upset over coronavirus vaccine pricing by the Serum Institute of India (SII), a BJP MLA has compared its CEO Adar Poonawalla with a dacoit and asked the government to acquire the company under the Epidemic Diseases Act.

AAA An FIR was lodged against a private hospital in Kanpur for mismanagement and charged with negligence while treating a district judge who was brought there for admission after testing COVID-19 positive.
District judge R.P. Singh tested positive on April 18. On Wednesday morning when the judge went to the hospital for admission at around 11 am along with the chief medical officer of Kanpur, they were shocked at the mismanagement.
According to the FIR lodged against the hospital on the complaint of the chief medical officer Anil Mishra, when they were going up the lift it malfunctioned and got stuck. They managed to get out of the lift after a while but found that there was no doctor available for taking care of patients, the FIR said.

Violators to be slapped with charges under Epidemic Diseases Ordinance
The Ernakulam Rural police have tightened restrictions in public places in the wake of the surge in COVID-19 cases.
District Police Chief (Ernakulam Rural) K. Karthik has warned of strict action against those who do not wear masks and maintain physical distancing. Sanitisers have been made mandatory at shops and other establishments.
Special squads and patrolling units will be deployed across all the five sub-divisions for enforcement of the COVID-19 protocol. They will be out on the road round-the-clock.
Steps will be taken to ensure that only permissible number of people are attending public functions. Those found violating the protocol will be slapped with charges under the Epidemic Diseases Ordinance. Vehicles will also not be spared.
