Peter Servidio, 41, of Paramus, was scheduled for a court hearing later this month, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office. He faces one count of fourth-degree forgery. “An investigation was conducted by [the prosecutor’s office] which revealed that the suspect turned over a note that appeared to be issued by a doctor, but was in reality forged by the suspect,” a prosecutor’s office detective said in an affidavit filed in the case.

A Bergen County sheriff s officer was charged with forging a document, the Bergen County Prosecutor s Office said Thursday. Officer Peter Servidio, 41, of Paramus is currently suspended from the Sheriff s Office and is scheduled to appear before a state judge in two weeks, authorities said. Bergen County Prosecutor s Office Chief of Detectives Robert Anzilotti said the document was a doctor s note. Sheriff Anthony Cureton described the document as investigative materials, later clarifying that the note had become part of the investigation once it was discovered. Cureton said the document  wasn’t consistent with what we were trying to obtain, but declined to comment further.
