A Bergen County sheriff s officer was charged with forging a document, the Bergen County Prosecutor s Office said Thursday.
Officer Peter Servidio, 41, of Paramus is currently suspended from the Sheriff s Office and is scheduled to appear before a state judge in two weeks, authorities said.
Bergen County Prosecutor s Office Chief of Detectives Robert Anzilotti said the document was a doctor s note.
Sheriff Anthony Cureton described the document as investigative materials, later clarifying that the note had become part of the investigation once it was discovered.
Cureton said the document wasn’t consistent with what we were trying to obtain, but declined to comment further.
