Many New Jersey vaccination sites announced Sunday they are closing on Monday due to the winter storm that is forecast to deliver as many as 24 inches of snow to the northern part of the state.
Some counties have already re-scheduled appointments, while others are finding new times.
“Depending on the extent of the storm, operations of vaccine sites on Tuesday may also be disrupted,” the health department wrote Sunday in a message to those scheduled to receive vaccines soon. The department said all Monday appointments will likely be rescheduled.

Out of vaccine and overwhelmed by demand, Bergen County says it has stopped registering people for coronavirus vaccinations and is switching to a new system that will better handle requests.
“All appointments for the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine are currently filled,” County Executive James Tedesco said in a Facebook post and on the county web site Monday morning. “Appointments will become available as additional vaccine doses are received from the State of New Jersey Department of Health.”

State Health Commissioner Judy Persichilli, Dr. Eddy Bresnitz and State Police Superintendent Colonel Pat Callahan will join the governor.
There were 3,726 patients in the state’s 71 hospitals as of 10 p.m. Tuesday, a slight uptick from the 3,703 in the previous 24-hour period, according to a Wednesday morning update on the Department of Health’s COVID-19 dashboard. Officials said 648 were receiving critical care and 452 were on ventilators.
Some cried tears of relief. Some murmured prayers of thanks for fallen co-workers and friends. Some avoided looking at the needle about to jab their arms, while others thanked the person vaccinating them. More than 150,000 New Jersey health care workers have received their first doses of the COVID vaccine and are starting their booster shots.
For hospitals, the first New Jersey institutions to inject the COVID vaccine into the arms of their employees, the rollout has been an emotional experience and a logistical challenge. They’ve engineered new websites, carved out space and redeployed staff.
“We’ve got a lot of people to vaccinate, and everybody is going as quickly as they can to vaccinate as many people as they can,” Robert Garrett, Hackensack Meridian Health’s CEO, said of the statewide effort. The state’s goal is to inoculate 70% of the adult population 4.7 million people by the end of June.
