The Ocean County Prosecutors Office and Berkeley Township Police are investigating a Monday night shooting in Manitou Park that left a man with a bullet fragment in his face, Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Police Chief Karin DiMichele announced in a joint statement Tuesday.

The 29-year old victim was treated at Community Medical Center and later released.
As for the shooting, police responded to Third Avenue Manitou Park on Monday around 3:00 pm where they found the victim.
It s not known who fired the shots or why at this point.

BERKELEY - Authorities are investigating a shooting that sent a man to the hospital Monday afternoon, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer and Berkeley Police Chief Karin DiMichele said.
Township police responded to a report of shots fired at a Third Avenue home about 3 p.m. yesterday, where they found the 29-year-old victim with a bullet fragment in his face, officials said.
He was treated for his injuries at Community Medical Center in Toms River and has since been released, according to authorities.
The incident is being investigated by the Ocean County Prosecutor s Office Major Crime Unit and detectives from the Berkeley Township Police Department.

Billhimer s office says, .Berkeley Township Police Officers responded to a residence on Third Avenue following a 911 call reporting shots having been fired in the area. Responding Officers found a 29 year-old male victim with a bullet fragment in his face.
Berkeley Township Police EMS Division receives grant for CPR gear
The Berkeley Township Police Department’s EMS Division is the recipient of a $14,567.82 grant courtesy of the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation.
BTPD EMS said they will use the money to purchase an automatic Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System (LUCAS Chest Compression System and External Power Supply) to fulfill a critical need within the department.
“The Township of Berkeley is thrilled to hear that the Berkeley Police Department-EMS Division has been awarded funds for an automatic chest compression system from the Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation,” Berkeley Township Mayor Carmen Amato said in a statement. “Bolstering our first responders’ life-saving capabilities, especially in times like these, is wonderful news for our community.”
