The 2020 college football season has been defined by COVID-19. After a chaotic couple of months and a Pac-12 season that was studded with cancellations Cal had four of its own it is fair to say this year will not be remembered so much for its football but for the context in which it took place.
What we should not forget, though, is how 2020 threw the relationship between American society and college football into sharp focus.
