MLS sets starting dates, Vancouver Whitecaps is looking to sign players from Portugal

Three days after reaching agreement with the Players Association (MLSPA) on a revised collective bargaining agreement, which avoided the first work stoppage in MLS’s 25-year history, the league provided an update to the club preseason reporting dates.
The MLS regular season will kick off the weekend of April 17, about seven weeks later than last year, which began on Feb. 29. As a result, the players will report on March 1 and then spend the next seven days in a quarantine period that includes medical exams and testing.
Portuguese-Canadian coach leads Vancouver team
