DECATUR, Ala. (WAFF) - Decatur police and fire crews responded to a home and car that was set on fire in Decatur on Tuesday.
Officers said both incidents happened around 7 a.m. The home is located near Hillwood Drive and the car was parked at La Quinta Inn near Beltline Road.
Authorities tell WAFF the victim stated, Bernard Obrian Driskell, 35, was making threats to harm and kill her. Investigators discovered Driskell was the suspect who set both fires.

A Decatur man faces a host of charges in connection with two fires set Tuesday morning.
Decatur police say Bernard Obrian Driskell, 35, is being held in the Morgan County Correctional Facility on $152,800 bond.
Firefighters responded to a house fire at 1009 Hillwood Drive S.W. at about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday. There was also a vehicle fire at La Quinta Inn at 918 Beltline Road S.W. A woman at La Quinta told police that Driskell had made threats to kill her. Police developed Driskell as a suspect in the fires.
