1945-2020 William N. “Bill” Jennewein, 75, of Yankton, South Dakota, passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton from complications of COVID-19 virus. A private family Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday, Dec. 16, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton with the Rev. Fr. Larry Regynski as celebrant. Burial was at Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors accorded by Ernest Bowyer VFW Post 791 Honor Guard and SDARNG Honor Guard. Online condolences may be made at: www.opsahl-kostalfuneralhome.com. Arrangements are under the direction of Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton. Bill was born April 19, 1945, in Olympia Washington to William P. and Evelyn (Bruning) Jennewein, both of Breda, Iowa. You are so generous with your contributions to the Beverly Waterford Food Pantry. Your donations are overwhelming. To the schools, churches, businesses, organizations and individuals, you have made it possible to feed those in our communities that need help. There is no way we can do this without you. You have shown this is very important to you. The food drives and monetary donations are very important to us. The food pantry is a service that provides much needed help in Waterford and Watertown townships. A private family Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Yankton with the Rev. Fr. Larry Regynski as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery with military honors accorded by Ernest Bowyer VFW Post #791 Honor Guard and SDARNG Honor Guard. Visitation will be 4 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15 at Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton, with masks required and social distancing practices to be observed. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to service time at the church on Wednesday.
