2 teens wounded in Chalmette drive-by shooting Saturday night, deputies say

NEW ORLEANS Two teenagers were walking in Chalmette neighborhood late Saturday night when shots came from a nearby dark SUV, before it drove away, deputies said in a report.
Deputies were sent to the scene around 11:45 p.m. after reports of a shooting in the area, and when they got there, they found the first victim, 15, wounded by gunfire lying on the sidewalk. The second victim, 16, was found by deputies on Patricia street also.

CHALMETTE, La. An incident report with the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office says the man who accused NFL player Aldon Smith of assault says that Smith choked him unconscious after he and at least one other man punched and slapped him in a dispute surrounding the victim’s marriage to a relative of Smith s.
According to the report, the responding deputy said he noticed abrasions to the face of the victim and ligature marks on the left and right sides of his neck.
Turning himself in, Smith now faces second degree battery charges for allegedly choking a victim and causing significant injuries in a confrontation outside of a coffee house in a New Orleans suburb earlier this month.
Seahawk Aldon Smith was arrested for second-degree battery in Louisiana. He was released on bond.

Aldon Smith has surrendered to authorities in Louisiana after an arrest warrant had been issued for the Seattle Seahawks defensive end.
The St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office says Smith was booked Tuesday on a second-degree battery charge. Officials say Smith turned himself in shortly before 7 p.m., was booked and released on bond.
