Multi-use trailhead expected to open in June

MIDLAND, Texas The multi-use trail in Midland is getting closer to opening.
Midland City Council approved the lease agreement with the Permian Basin Bicycle Association in January.
The property is a 135 acres by Harris Field off of I-20 and will house a pond, a forest a six-mile long trail.
Council member Jack Ladd recently visited the trail and is ready for it to open.
New Multi-Purpose Trail in Midland to Open Soon
Many in Midland/Odessa want more places to do things outdoors, with so many nice days a year in the area, it is a good place to be outside and soon a multi-purpose trail will be opening.
According to NewsWest 9, Tuesday (January 26, 2021), Midland City Council approved a lease agreement next to the fire training center for a multi-purpose trail.
The Permian Basin Bicycle Association was given as the organization to use the property which has a pond and many trees to create seven miles of beginner and intermediate single track trails and a wider two mile perimeter trail.
