National Science Foundation (NSF) – Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) intern.  How did you get your internship?          I heard about it through the FIU marine biology listserv managed by Laura Garcia Barcia. I learned about it a week before the deadline but decided to try and see if I would get it. If it were not for my phenomenal professor Heather Bracken-Grissom s promptness and diligence in helping me out, this definitely would not have happened.

Potential For Renewable Energy Development

The island’s marine Exclusive Economic Zone offers “great potential for renewable energy development,” Minister Walter Roban said, adding that the “most feasible of these technologies is offshore wind” and the “next most feasible technology is floating solar.” Speaking in the House of Assembly, Minister of Home Affairs Walter Roban said, “In June 2019 the Government committed to developing an integrated Marine Spatial Plan for the entirety of the 200 nautical miles of Bermuda’s Exclusive Economic Zone [EEZ]. This includes the inshore and offshore areas. The completion date for this project is set for the end of March 2022. “This project is being undertaken in a partnership between the Government, the Waitt Institute and Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science [BIOS].

Minister: 9,000 Doses Of The Pfizer Vaccine

Minister: Pfizer Vaccine Due To Arrive In January [Updated] Health Minister Kim Wilson delivered remarks in the House of Assembly today [Dec 11] on the “Covid-19 vaccine for Bermuda.” We will update with the full statement as able, and in the meantime the audio is below. Update: The Minister said, “Bermuda will be supplied with 9,000 doses of the Pfizer vaccine and they will arrive on our shores in the first week of January 2021. The Pfizer vaccine is stored at ultra-low temperatures. Most vaccines are refrigerated; but this particular vaccine must be kept in a freezer at -70 degrees Celsius – Arctic conditions.
